So I was working on a post that I thought I would be posting today but it has turned into a bit of a monster so it will be delayed while I get all of the posts related to it done. Yes, plural, there is way too much to fit into a single post without making it a novel. The current working title is called "New Tax Rules for Gig Workers and Maybe FOSS Developers in the US", subtitled, Why you might just want to become a business.
I have gotten four of the computers in the house running OpenSuse Tumbleweed, my desktop and notebook (they were the first ones) then the TV computer and lastly my wife's notebook. Moving on from Fedora was an easy choice, while I did really like it for many years the issues around major updates killed more than one install and I had enough to change. Not that all is smooth sailing with Tumbleweed, there are some growing issues with pipewire repo's and versions that cause me to manually run updates but I would rather that then have a system potentially wiped out once a year or so. At some point I might try Tumbleweed as a server but I am going to stick with Debian for now, rock stable and really good for servers.
My work project has been continuing but I think had I really known all that I would be doing I would be using Python instead of Powershell. While Powershell is good it is also slow for doing things that involve a lot of reading and writing of data. But on the plus side, I do know much more of the scripting language than before.
At some point I also fell into the black hole called Wordle. Not because you can play the game all the time but the curiosity of how a game/program/app so simple got sold for “in the low-seven figures” and what was behind it. Also, you get to play only once a day and I found this article on how to play at home.

While it works there is also some other things that you should download and change if you want to play offline in a private version. Maybe a different post later.
This also got me thinking about making a different version and then I also thought about some old games, think text based games but lets make them into something more like point & click with some visuals. Just what I need, more projects.
